The University structures its academic calendar as follows:

Semester

First Semester January to May
Summer Session June to August
Second Semester September to December

Each course is worth five credits. Students learn from textbooks and other learning materials, as well as needing to complete the required assignments.

Learning Aids

DOU education is given through a long distance learning system via course books, workbooks, CDs, videos, online resources, and Dhamma media (the DMC Channel) through satellite broadcasts or by watching www.dmc.tv

*Each course is worth 5 credits.
*Students are able to sign up for as little as 1 course (5 credits) per semester in order to gain a Certificate of Achievement. Students have the option of transferring these credits towards Diploma and Bachelor Degrees.

Registration

1. Certificate of Achievement Program
Students are able to register for a maximum of 2 subjects per semester.
2. Pre – dergree
Students are able to register for a maximum of 4 subjects per semester and a maximum of 2 subjects per summer session.
3. Four-Year Bachelor Degree Program
Students are able to register for maximum of 4 subjects per semester and a maximum of 2 subjects per summer session. Students are able to re-register for failed subjects until completing the program.
